Al Collison, the former GM of the BVLD radio station, now The Peak, passed away this week.
Collison was 70-years-old when he passed away on Tuesday.
General Manager of Bell Media in the Peace Region, Terry Shepherd says Collison was a broadcasting pioneer for the Bulkley Valley.
“I think he would be remembered as a very strong personality and someone that really took charge. I know he was really involved over the years in his community. He was with the ambulance service. I think he was a strong supporter of the Smithers community and would be remembered as a very good citizen…Al was a very proud person and loved the town of Smithers and CFBV as a radio station.”
His funeral will be held on May 16th at 2pm at the St. James Anglican church in Smithers.
