School District 54 schools will be closed today due to stage two rotating teacher strikes.
Teachers at Houston and Smithers schools will be on the picket lines today and school buses will not be running.
Administration staff are on site and schools are open but parents are asked not to send their children as classes have been cancelled.
The rotating strikes are the second phase of job action by the BCTF after negotiations with the province haven’t led to a new contract.
