Northern Health is offering more Imagine grant funding to communities that want to start health promotion projects.
Northern Health regional manager, Kelsey Yarmish says the upcoming Canada Winter Games are the perfect opportunity for northern communities to highlight the importance of healthy living.
“The grant funding supports community projects targeting the prevention of chronic disease, prevention of injuries and the promotion of health and wellness. These projects contribute to the health and wellness of groups living in communities across the Northern Health region. We know that health outcomes are often determined by what happens in communities. Where people live, where they work, where they learn and where they play.”
She says projects should broadly impact the community, inspire community health and have a good chance of continuing after the funding ends.
Schools, student groups, local governments, community band offices and non-profits are among the groups who can apply for the grant money.
The application process is open now until July 7th, for more information visit the Northern Health website.
