Details on Houston bear-hunter released in US newspaper

According to a Washington State paper the American man killed while hunting grizzlies near Houston last week was shot by one of his guides.

According to the Longview Daily News the family of 59-year-old Jeff Cooper says Cooper and two guides were hunting a grizzly when Cooper was fatally shot.

The paper says Cooper had shot the grizzly the day before and while the trio was tracking the wounded bear it charged at them and all three hunters fired.

Cooper, who was standing in front of one of the guides at the time was hit and killed.
