Tips for outdoor burning

The Northwest Fire Centre is urging caution when doing any outdoor burning.
Fire information officer Olivia Pojar says there is increased wildfire risk because dead grass dries out quickly in the spring.
She adds weather conditions at this time of year are highly unpredictable and can change without warning.
Anyone wishing to burn must ensure that enough people, tools and water are on hand to control the fire and prevent it from escaping.
Pojar adds, never leave the fire unattended.
