Film crews from CBC are in Telkwa this week to film a new show about small, rural towns.
Economic development officer for the village, Jane Stevenson says they decided to come after seeing some videos posted online.
“They were googling and looking up Telkwa and saw some videos they liked,” she says. “They looked at you tube and found some interesting demo derby videos and some Kinsmen with the stage. They just thought there was some unique things happening in Telkwa, which there is.”
The show, called Still Standing, is hosted by Canadian comedian Jonny Harris. He will be interviewing locals and checking out the sites all week.
A free BBQ and live music will take place at Eddy Park on Saturday to celebrate.
