Additional seating coming to Bovill Square

Bovill Square will be getting some seating just in time for the summer season.
The some-what new park on the corner of Main Street and Broadway is almost complete with a stage, grass and planters but no where for anyone to sit.
Mayor Taylor Bachrach says council wanted the square to be an every day gathering place for the whole community and a vibrant public place.
“Right from the beginning the design had featured additional seating,” he says. “So we got the first phase in the ground in time for the centennial celebrations and now we are looking at ways at refining the space to be more conducive for people coming down at lunch hour and eating in the park.”
The town has decided to put in benches and picnic tables at a cost of around $20,000.
Council is offering to put plaques ‘in memory of’ on the benches for people to buy at a discounted rate to help offset the cost.
The benches will be designed to discourage anyone from sleeping on them.
