With only a few more months to go to the 2019 Smithers Celebrity Golf Tournament, the organization has announced the two recipients of their year’s funds.
The Bulkley Valley District Hospital and the Care Cancer Team will be splitting the proceeds from the tournament.
“We want to thank the 12 applicants who sent in their great applications we know a lot of these organizations are surviving off of volunteers and hard work,” said Member of the Organizing Committee Phil Bernier.
The money will go towards assisting the hospital to improve its surgical equipment and helping families with cancer cover travel expenses.
So far 22 celebrities are signed up to participate in this year’s tournament.
Celebrities include Sebastian Clovis the star of HGTV’s Tackle My Reno, Todd Talbot from Love it or List it Vancouver, as well as Olympian Justin Kripps.
It’s all happening from August 8th to10th followed by a performance from Faber Drive.
