Smithereens had a blast at the Dash this weekend, participating in the Canadian Cancer Society’s first ever Daffodil Dash.
Despite the gloomy weather, many Smithereens were in attendance to participate in fun events along the set pathway throughout town.
Daffodil Dash Co-Chair Lorna Thornton tells us what the event was all about.
“We mainly had an awareness goal and to get people out talking with each other, celebrating our victories, cancer research and each other,” she says.
It was the first time the event was held and replaced the annual “Relay for Life” event.
While money may not have been the main goal, the Daffodil Dash did raise over $10,000 for cancer research.
