Charges Laid in Burns Lake

Burns Lake RCMP released this official statement earlier today:

On April 27, 2015 at 8:25 a.m., the Burns Lake RCMP attended a residence in the 200 block of 5th Ave in Burns Lake after receiving a report of potential foul play.

Officers entered the residence and found 3 people, one woman and two men, dead inside. The identities of all three victims are not being released at this time.

54 year old Burns Lake resident Rueben Buhler has been arrested in connection with the homicides and has been charged with three counts of second degree murder and is expected to appear in Burns Lake Provincial Court sometime tomorrow (Wednesday, April 29, 2015).

Police believe this to be an isolated incident and there is no further risk to the public.

The North District Major Crime Unit, Prince George Forensic Identification Unit, and members from the North District General Investigative Unit (out of Terrace and Prince George) are assisting the Burns lake RCMP in their investigation.

The investigation is still in its very early stages and no other information can be released at this time in order to protect the integrity of the investigation and the upcoming court process.
