Smithers received a helping hand that will help entertainers perform downtown.
Bulkley Valley Insurance Services will provide up to $2 million dollars of insurance coverage for entertainment in Bovill Square.
To qualify for this insurance, the events must be for entertainment purposes, meaning nothing political religious or in protest. The event must not serve food or liquor, and only those who are uninsured can apply.
The $775 annual premium has also been covered, which eliminates any costs to performers.
