School District 54 recently demonstrated the current and future states of local schools at their annual facilities review.
The Board spent many evenings this week presenting facts and ideas of enrollment numbers, capacity uses, and facilities cost.
Afterward, they then listen to what parents, students, and stakeholders have to say about the facilities, which often leaves a lasting impression.
District Treasurer Dave Mergerm says Houston Secondary saw a huge change because of ideas brought forward at last year’s meetings.
“[We invested] a substantial amount of money into the Houston Secondary trades program because they had the capacity and room for it, so we could build quite a state of the art trades centre. HSS now works with the college to provide better services,” he says.
Many of ideas and feedback shared this week will be put to use for the next school year.
