RCMP has confirmed a woman has died and a man was injured after a single-vehicle collision early this morning west of Topley.

At around 4 A.M. Houston RCMP was called to Highway 16 between Topley Post Office Rd and Howells Rd.

Cpl. Mike Halskov, Traffic Service Media Relations Officer said the pair were driving from the Lower Mainland to Prince Rupert.

“Upon arrival it was determined that a westbound orange Dodge pickup truck left the highway and crashed, killing the female occupant and injuring the male occupant,” said Halskov.

Police are looking to speak with witnesses who may have seen the pickup truck traveling between Vanderhoof to Topley between 2 A.M. And 4 A.M. Halskov also said.

“If anybody has any recollection of this incident of this particular vehicle, including any dashcam footage they may have, please contact the Houston RCMP,” said Halskov.

The RCMP are still investigating the collision. Anyone with information is asked to call Houston RMP at 250-845-2204.
