With the cooler weather, the Bulkley River flood watch has been downgraded but heading out to the river is still unsafe.

The BC River Forecast Centre has now put the river on a High Stream Advisory, a step down from the past Flood watch.

Forecaster head Dave Campbell says that the Centre is still cautiously watching the river, as the weather warms throughout the week.

“We do have some more weather coming at us in terms of fairly hot conditions and rising temperatures through the week. We’re expecting things to hold up where they are, but we’re just waiting until we drop below major levels of concerns before we pull the advisory down,” he says.

Campbell reminds everyone to stay away from the Bulkley river and banks until it is absolutely safe.
