The local girls rugby teams aren’t the only ones looking for a National Championship.
The Bulkley Valley district boys rugby team is a combined force of Smithers and Houston Secondary players, are headed Abbotsford this weekend to battle for the AA title.
Co-Coach Robert Mark hopes that the 1100 km drive can benefit the team, one that has only practised together 4 times.
“The long trip down at least will help the boys get closer together, and hopefully they’ll be talking over some strategy as we go,” he says.
The Boys leave this weekend and will play their first game on Monday vs. Rockridge of West Vancouver.
