The Bulkley Valley School District will be discussing the future of the proposed “Sportsplex” at tonight’s Education forum meeting.
The proposed sports facility would be a year-round covered turf field and alternative for students to the undersized Smithers Secondary gym.
It would also benefit the community, becoming an outlet for Smithereens to stay active throughout the long winters.
The School board has committed 1.5 million dollars to the project, leaving approximately 2 million dollars needed from “community, corporate, and private sponsorship.”
