Smithereens may have noticed the barricades placed at Main and Fourth as well as the Goat Park across the highway.
CityWest is currently doing construction, installing their fibre optics cable system.
The cables will run underground and will not affect the surface.
Construction is expected to be done on the weekend, and the holes will be reinstated by late next week.
Development services director Mark Allen is asking drivers to respect the barricades while they are up.
