Burns Lake and Smithers see downward trend in COVID-19 cases

The Smithers Local Health Area identified two new COVID-19 cases during the week of March 7 to March 13. 

This is a decrease from 4 cases for the week of Feb 28 to March 6.

The Smithers LHA average daily case rate remains the same at 0.1 to 5.0 cases being identified per 100,000 people. 

In the Burns Lake Local Health Area two news cases were identified last week compared to no cases the week before. 

This has caused the average daily case rate to increase to 0.1 to 5.0 cases being identified per 100,000 people.

Meanwhile, Terrace saw 23 new cases decreasing the average daily case rate to 15.1 to 20 cases being identified per 100,000 people.

Prince Rupert still remains a hotspot with 117 new cases being confirmed.
