Police look for information in mischief investigation causing over $10 grand in damage

Police are looking for information regarding a mischief investigation in Smithers.

On November 1, RCMP received a report of mischief to property after the manager of the Starlynx Communications Tower on Hudson Bay Mountain Road had been damaged.

According to a news release, the damage is consistent with bullet holes and it appears that someone may have shot at the tower over 50 times.

Police added that the tower went offline around 8 p.m. on October 31 and it is believed that the damage occurred around that time.

The cost to repair the tower is expected to cost more than $10,000.

Anyone with information is being asked to contact Smithers RCMP.
