The Town of Smithers says the level 3 Electric Vehicle Charging stations are now in service.
The stations are located on Second Avenue, between Main Street and King Street and are operated by BC Hydro.
According to the Town, the level two charger is still available but has been moved to the other side of the BC Hydro Units.
BC Hydro added final testing of the units occurred last week.
In August, the province made the announcement of the two charging stations being installed in Smithers and other communities within the Bulkley Valley and Lakes District.
This includes Burns Lake, Houston and Hazelton.
The province is moving to have 100% new light duty zero emission vehicles sales by 2040.
