The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako has issued an Evacuation Alert due to growing concern of ice jams on the Bulkley River, causing flooding.
This Evacuation Alert replaces the Hazard Notice issued December 21st, 2021.
Because of the potential danger to life and health, the RBDN has issued an Evacuation Alert from Viewmount Road N along the south side of Kidd Road to the end of Kidd Road and south along Viewmount Road N to the Bulkley River, including all properties on Columbia Street, 22nd Avenue, and Bulkley Street.
The Evacuation Alert has been issued to prepare residents to evacuate their premises or property should it be found necessary. Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to evacuation, however, limited notice may be given due to changing conditions.
