The Town of Smithers and Regional District of Bulkley Nechako (RBDN) have rescinded the Evacuation Alerts related to ice jams on the Bulkley River.
The alerts have been downgraded to a Hazard Notice. The notice has been issued for all low-lying areas adjacent to the river.
Residents in the area are being asked to continue to monitor the situation, and exercise extreme caution and limit recreation near and around the river.
The RBDN originally issued their alert on Wednesday, December 22nd, and the Town of Smithers followed suit the next day.
