Coast Mountain College says in class learning delayed until January 10

Coast Mountain College has announced it has decided to delay the start for in person classes until January 10.

According to a news release, this is to assess the Omicron variant and to review plans for returning to class after the winter break.

The release added the delay will not include programs with clinical or other experiential components, trades or other distributed learning. 

Courses included in this are:

  • Carpentry Level 1
  • Step into Trades
  • Power Engineering Readiness 
  • Programs with practicums scheduled to start on January 10
  • All courses scheduled for online and distributed learning platforms

Coast Mountain added that it is working with the local health authority as they analyze data from the province. 

The college also said the gym at its Terrace campus will be closed until at least January 19.
