NEWPRO Looking green moving forward

NEWPRO began sharing their pellet plant ideas with the public today, which included a presentation about its environmental focus.

The re-purposed facility will manufacture wood pellets instead of the particle board, which they say will be much greener.

For example, the company plans to use logging and forest debris that that would otherwise be burned on work sites. NEWPRO says by using this waste, they can remove some air pollutants equal to 3,700 wood stoves.

NEWPRO advisor Aaron Sinclair says the company can do even more than that.

“It’s going to get shipped where it’s going to offset [the] carbon that’s being burnt through coal and dramatically reduce worldwide emissions and be a part of that chain to make things better,” he says.

NEWPRO will be holding more public presentations tonight Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at the plant.
