Cooler temperatures prevailed today as the open fire ban was lifted in Smithers.
Smithers Fire Rescue rescinded the ban, effective Thursday, 16th at noon.
The ban first came into effect for the Nadina, Skeena Stikine, and Coast Mountain Forest Districts on July 2nd. The ban became nearly Province-wide the following day.
While Smithereens can again enjoy backyard fires, Smithers Fire Rescue still wants everyone to play responsibly.
This lift only applies to the residents of Smithers.
