Local Police vehicles will now be equipped with “Automated Licence Plate Recognition.”
Plates will immediately be scanned and run through a database, to alert Police of any wrongdoing.
This includes: wanted drivers, driving without a license, and cars without insurance, among others.
Police are reminding the public that front licence plates are required by law.
