Smithers Council will meet tonight to discuss a few matters
Council will decide whether to add up to three more members to the Advisory Planning Commission.
By increasing the member total and maintaining a quorum of 5, the Commission hopes to avoid future meeting cancellations and rescheduling.
Three names being considered for the positions are Carlee Morsund, Andy Howard, Laurelin Svisdahl.
Another topic is a potential amendment to the outdated Property Maintenance Bylaw.
The bylaw hasn’t been modernized since 1990 and Council will debate whether or not to update it to fit the more developed Town.
Inoperable “derelict vehicles” storage, wild “vegetation,” and decaying “rubbish” on residential properties will all be discussed.
Chamber doors open at 6:30 PM.
