Police say the unexpected death of a man near Witset has been turned over to the BC Coroners Service.
A cyclist was found dead on Telkwa High Road on Monday (Aug 8).
RCMP Sgt. Chris Manseau said the death is not being considered suspicious and no evidence of foul play was located.
“It didn’t look like there were any tire marks in the gravel to show evidence of a vehicle coming into contact or anything and no indication of quick braking or evasive steering by a vehicle or by the bike,” he said.
Manseau added that Smithers RCMP is working with the Coroners Service to determine a cause of death and that it is currently under investigation.
In BC, all deaths that are considered unnatural, unexpected, unattended or unexplained must be reported to the coroners service.
