Two SD54 employees nominated for Premier’s Awards for Excellence in Education

School District 54 has two employees who are up for the 2022 Premier’s Awards for Excellence in Education.

District principal of Indigenous education Birdy Markert is up for the Indigenous education award and custodial manager Rolanda Lavalle is up for the Outstanding support-school community award.

The two employees are among 34 education professionals to be named as finalists.

This year there will be 10 award winners which will be announced at a ceremony at Government House in Victoria on October 14.

Additionally, each winner will receive a $3,000 personal bursary, a $2,000 contribution to their school and a trophy.

The province accepted nominations for the awards from October 5 to March 31 where 113 nominations were received.
