The Federal Government has announced an investment to revitalize and enhance tourism within the North.
Over $2.6 million has been provided for eight projects through the Canada Community Revitalization Fund.
Three communities within the Bulkley Valley are among the projects to receive funding.
Projects in the region that received funding are:
- The Village of Hazelton- $30,000 to upgrade the Bastian Community Park
- The Village of Telkwa- $225,000 to replace playground equipment at the BBQ Grounds
- Smithers Skatepark Society- $462, 346 to complete phase 1 of the Smithers Skate Park.
The announcement was made by Minister of International Development Harjit Sajjan in Prince Rupert this morning (Tuesday).
