Evacuation Alert for the Morice River fire rescinded

The Regional District of Bulkley- Nechako has rescinded the evacuation alert that was in place around the Morice River near Houston.

The alert was due to the Morice River Wildfire that was sparked late Sunday night.

It is now classified as under control with the cause believed to be lightning.

The BC Wildfire Service says it is measuring at five hectares.

Currently, the Northwest Fire Centre has 18 wildfires burning across the region.
