High bear activity partially closed Babine River Corridor Provincial Park

BC Parks says the Babine River Corridor Provincial Park near Fort Babine is partially closed.

This is because of the high risk of bear-human conflict in the southern part of the park.

The closure is in effect from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans facilities to Nichyeskwa Creek, which includes the parking and shoreline.

A decision to potentially reopen that side of the park is anticipated tomorrow (Friday) by noon which can be found on BC Parks website.
