Young readers can get excited about a recent gift for the Smithers Library.
Local Pharmasave stores donated nearly $1876 to buy 250 new books for those learning to read.
The old children’s books were damaged, outdated and needed to be replaced, and Librarian Wendy Wright says the library really needed to appeal to young readers.
“We wanted to make sure we were able to offer kids something that they were curious enough about that they want to put in that hard work to figure out what that page says,” she states.
Some of the new titles include Lego, Bad Kitty, Hot Wheels, Clifford the Big Red Dog, Paddington Bear and non-fiction books on animals, science, and weather.
