A thousand customers across the north still without power following windstorm

About 99% of residents impacted by a windstorm that swept through Prince George and much of northern BC have their lights back on according to BC Hydro.

As of 9 am this morning (Friday), over 100 people in the northern capital as well as just under 13 hundred customers in Fort Saint James, Burns Lake, and Vanderhoof are waiting for their lights to come back on.

In total, 100,000 customers were affected by the windstorm.

Crews will continue to work throughout the day to have all remaining customers restored today – with the possible exception of small pockets of people in more remote areas of the North.
