Ottawa to implement ten-dollar-a-day child care across the country

The federal government is to introduce legislation today (Thursday), to boost early learning and child care across the country.

The bill is expected to give teeth to Ottawa’s proposed ten-dollar-a-day child care program.

It’s expected to enshrine pledges from the provinces to increase spaces in licensed not-for-profit daycare facilities.

Such legislation was a cornerstone of the minority government’s agreement with the New Democrats to ensure their support in Parliament.
