Hazelton will be welcoming a new family doctor to the area, as will 13 other Northern communities through a medical pilot program.
The Practice Ready Assessment Strategy is a part of the Provincial government’s strategy to strengthen family doctors and essential health care providers throughout BC.
Each of the 14 doctors has shadowed a BC physician for 3-months and undergone rigorous assessments. They have all committed to practicing within their new community for at least 3 years.
Another 16 medical graduates will be assessed in the Fall, bringing a total of 30 new doctors to the North in 2015.
