NLWS just shy of Truck funding goal

The clock is ticking on the Northern Lights Wildlife Society fundraiser.

The animal rescue has until midnight tomorrow to raise the remaining $5,000 for their new truck.

Co-founder Angelika Langen says a new vehicle will help with the long distance drives.

She recalls a time where the old truck almost didn’t make it down south.

“Last year we had six black bear cubs and three grizzlies that came out of the Kootenays, which is a long way to go but those animals, they needed us,” she says. “This way, now we know that we will be able to continue those services and give those animals a second chance,” she says.

The Society has raised $20,000 in two months and had another $15,000 donated by a British bear-saving charity.
