District 91 students grabbed their new notebooks and their favourite snacks before heading off to the first day of school this morning.
Decker Lake Elementary students started the year by meeting their classmates and heading off to a first-day assembly.
Principal Vincent Hewgill says he feels good about how the day is going.
“Of course, staff is excited to get things happening and get the year underway,” he says, “it’s always nice to see the first day behind us. We feel better once we see things start up smoothly and get going.”
Today is a PD Day for students in District 54. They will begin classes tomorrow.
