Houston women face Animal Cruelty charges in Alberta

Two women now face animal cruelty-related charges in two provinces.

Oyen, Alberta RCMP was arresting Karin Adams and her daughter Catherine for failing to comply with release conditions, stemming from animal cruelty charges laid near Houston in August 2014.

While on the property, Police noticed several animals in rough shape. They executed a search warrant and found 53 distressed animals.

The dogs, horses, and birds have since been removed and taken to veterinarians.

As well as animal cruelty charges in BC, the two face “Failing to Comply with Conditions of an Undertaking,” “Cruelty to Animals,” “Wilful Neglect of Animals” and “Possession of Stolen Property” in Alberta.

The mother and daughter are scheduled to appear in Hanna Provincial Court on October 28, 2015, for their first appearance.
