Thrift Stores expect more donations after Re-Use close

After regional re-use sheds closed this week, local thrift stores are expecting more donations.

Transfer station staff discovered dangerous and biohazardous materials in the sheds, resulting in an indefinite shutdown.

Like many other charity workers, New to You spokesperson Gisela Varga says she’d be happy to take care of your donations.

“We don’t want to fill up the landfill for nothing,” she says, “If it’s a good, quality item that can be reused, isn’t it better to reuse it than fill up the landfill?”

Proceeds from New to You are donated to the district hospital to fund new equipment.
