Canadian voters now have a new and easier way to register.
For the first time, Canadian residents can sign up online instead of phoning ahead or walking into an official office.
BC Elections Canada spokesperson Dorothy Sitek says this was the logical next step.
“Elections Canada’s mandate is to ensure that people have the information and opportunity to vote if they want to vote,” she says, “this is another effort in trying to make voting as accessible as possible for Canadians.”
