Cougars land veteran blueliner from Lethbridge

It wasn’t a matter of if but when the Prince George Cougars decided to fill their final overage spot.

General Manager & Head Coach Mark Lamb ended that suspense today (Wednesday) as the WHL club acquired defenceman Chase Pauls from the Lethbridge Hurricanes in exchange for a
2024 third-round pick in the WHL Prospect’s Draft.

Pauls has nine points in 30 games (2-7-9) with Lethbridge in the 2023-2024 campaign.

The 20-year-old who stands at 6’5” has had a robust WHL career, suiting up in 190 games and accumulating 55 points (18-37-55) over four seasons.

“Pauls is a big veteran defensive defenceman that will fit in our group very well,” commented Lamb.

“He is a top penalty killer, defends hard, and makes a good first pass.”

Pauls also earned an invitation to the Los Angeles Kings Rookie camp this fall.
