Town of Smithers looking for resident feedback to expand economic development

The Town of Smithers launched a survey today (Friday) asking residents to share their ideas about expanding the local economy and enhancing the quality of life.

Data from this survey will go towards creating an Economic Development Plan focused on job creation, investment, and workforce and resident attraction.

“The goal of this Economic Development Plan for our community is to embrace big ideas that will nurture a sustainable and prosperous local economy for people to pursue a high quality of life,” said Smithers Mayor Gladys Atrill.

Some of the questions in the survey are around why residents choose to live in Smithers, and what residents wish were in the community.

The survey will be live until February 2nd, with the plan creation expected to complete this spring.

Anyone wishing to participate can find a link to the 29-question survey here.
