BL Council to talk bylaws, repaving tonight

A few bylaws will be discussed at tonight’s Burns Lake Council meeting, including the proposed new Business License bylaw.

The new bylaw would update regulations and reduce restrictions for Mobile and temporary vendors.

Business fees would also be much cheaper for temporary vendors and non-profit groups.

The Permissive Tax Exemption is also expected to be updated tonight.

One additional property is being proposed for this year’s annual update as Local non-for-profit LD Film Appreciation Society qualifies for the exemption.

Additionally, Council will discuss repaving strategies.

A new plan includes bringing back a few items into the 2016 budget.

This includes money from the “Community Forest” and Gas Tax to repave parts of both 4th and 8th avenue.

Council will also discuss reinstating funds in the Public Works Operating Budget for street patching and pothole fixes.

The Public is encouraged to attend tonight’s meeting in the Council Chambers at 7 PM.
