Smithers will try to define community progress following a presentation this evening.
University of Victoria professor Dr. Trevor Hancock will lead a discussion about community vitality and how to move forward.
Mayor Taylor Bachrach says things like safety and economIc opportunitIes are vital to a community, but believes a method of measurement will become clearer Wednesday.
“We want to get a bit of a handle on that and bring in a few more different measurements so that we can paint a bit more comprehensive picture of how we’re doing as a community,” he said.
Following this presentation, some community members will partake in a workshop Thursday to further discuss tonight’s topics.
The presentation begins tonight at 7 PM in the Della Herman theatre. Admission is free.
