The Northwest Fire Centre has issued a category 2 and 3 fire ban across the Bulkley and Nadina fire zones starting Thursday at noon.
This means fires larger than two metres high and three metres wide, and fireworks won’t be allowed for this Easter weekend.
Campfires less than a half metre tall or wide are still allowed, along with propane or charcoal cooking stoves.
Those found in violation of the ban could be fined between $1,150 and $10,000 – or if convicted up to $100,000 / one year in jail.
