Prince George Fire Centre responding to pair of blazes in VanJam zone

The BC Wildfire Service is responding to a pair of blazes in the VanJam fire zone.

One of those fires in four kilometres east of Vanderhoof, and is around eight hectares in size.

The other fire is located around 11 kilometres west of Fraser Lake, and is about 25 hectares in size.

“No structures are currently threatened by either fire, and they have crews, aircraft and heavy equipment responding on site, with the priority of protecting human life, property and infrastructure,” said Fire Information Officer Adam Nicholas.

 Meanwhile in the Cariboo, the BC Wildfire Service is responding to a wildfire between Quesnel and Williams Lake.

Officials say the Burgess Creek Wildfire has grown to an estimated 1,600 hectares after being discovered at around 50 hectares yesterday.
