“Hard up in Hazeltons” currently second place nationwide

At its current pace of daily vote-receiving, Hazleton’s Ken Trombley Memorial Arena could be getting its new temporary roof and Zamboni.

It’s been one week since the Canada-wide Aviva Community fund contest began on October 6th, and the “Hard-up in the Hazletons” project currently sits in second place.

Hazelton Minor Hockey Association Presidents Ryneld Starr is thankful for all the support thus far and is hoping it will continue.

“The other projects are also trying to get their votes up,” he says, “we have to keep what votes we have coming in every day and try to build [on them]. If people could continue to share the link and ask friends and family to vote for us, that would be really helpful.”

The top 30 projects will move on, where a panel of judges will then decide which ones will receive funding.
