Power has been restored for residents affected by the outage.

The outage was caused by a tree falling on the power lines and crews have been dispatched.

Power is out for about 1,900 residents along Highway 16 east of Smithers, including in Telkwa and Quick.
According to the BC Hydro website, power went out at 2:30 this morning (Thursday) and no crews have been assigned as of 6:30 a.m.
What caused the outage is still being investigated.
