Former Fort Telkwa RV Park re-opens ahead of summer

After closing two years ago, the former Fort Telkwa RV Park is re-opening.

“We had noticed that it was closed for a while, and then saw it was for sale,” said new co-owner Marisca Bakker. “We thought it would be fun to own a campground, get it going again, and we’re really excited about it.”

She and her husband, Devin Bakker, purchased the Harmony Ridge RV Park a month ago with some things staying the same.

“There are two guest houses here that people can rent out, and there are about 40 fully serviced RV spots. We are keeping all of that and maintaining it,” said Bakker.

The park sits about 400 metres east if Telkwa and has already seen interest from the public.

“Everybody’s really excited for us and that feels good to have the support of the community,” she said.

Bakker added spots are still available for reservation or drop-in through the Canada Day weekend.

The site closed after its previous owner passed away in an accident.
